About me
My name is Sameena, and I am a British Muslim of South Asian heritage, which has shaped my worldview and deepened my capacity to empathise with people from all diverse backgrounds and experiences.
I began my professional life in engineering before making a career change into counselling, which has given me first-hand insight into how challenging it can be to question life goals and navigate significant change. During this period of transition, I also worked in state education as a teaching assistant, supporting children and young people with autism spectrum conditions, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and anxiety. As a counsellor I have worked with charities, NHS, University and the private health care sector.
Throughout my varied career, I have developed many transferable skills, including balancing work and personal life, analytical thinking, patience, and empathy. I have also learned that even when people share the same diagnosis, they experience and understand the world in a uniquely personal way.
